My Story
I was born in Lympstone, a small fishing village in the south west, it is here I have spent much of my life in and on the water. From an early age I have been beach combing, wandering the tide lines in search of anything to inspire me, from the remote reedbeds of the Exe Estuary to the mud banks of the Thames. It is in these ever-changing coastal fringes that I am able to discover pieces of history, both natural and man-made, which are the catalysts of my creations. Over the years I have collected all manner of washed up items weathered and eroded by the elements. From gnarled and knotted hard wood to clay pipes and bricks. With each find, I am able to imagine the journey it has undertaken, something that I hope comes across in each of my pieces as they start new journeys.
I trained at the fine furniture college under the internationally renowned furniture maker, David Savage. I now design and produce sculpture and fine furniture derived from salvaged maritime objects. By creating weathered-by-water, I want to offer you the same opportunity to delight in these unique discoveries and craftmanship.
Thank you for your interest and I hope you like my work.
